The Quad City Mallards today unveiled a 2017-18 promotion schedule headlined by opening weekend fireworks, a Las Vegas vacation giveaway, Marvel Superhero Night, game worn jersey auctions and the return of $2 Beer/$2 Dog Fridays presented by 97X along with the introduction of new beverage specials.

PROMOTION SCHEDULE

The Mallards’ twenty-first season begins on Friday, October 13. The first 5,000 fans through the iWireless Center’s doors for the season opener against the Toledo Walleye will receive free Mallards magnet schedules. The Mallards will be back in action on home ice the following evening and their match-up with the Tulsa Oilers will be followed by a fireworks show outside the iWireless Center.

Opening night will also be the first of 15 $2 Beer/$2 Dog Fridays presented by 97X. In addition, every Friday game will be a MetroLINK College Night this season. The Mallards have once again partnered with Metro to provide transit service between Augustana College and downtown Moline during all Friday home games. As part of Metro’s unlimited ride program, Augustana riders can use their Augustana ID as their fare.

In addition to $2 20-ounce beers on Fridays, new for this season $1 10-ounce beers will be available during Wednesday night games and sodas can be had for just $1 at Sunday games.

After each of this season’s six Sunday home games, fans once more will have a chance to join players on the ice and skate with the Mallards.

The Mallards’ home schedule is stacked with additional returning promotions, including the continuation of the Mallards’ long running partnership with Genesis Health System, with whom the Mallards will team for a pair of jersey auctions to benefit the Genesis Health Services Foundation. The Mallards will wear jerseys modeled on those of the Vegas Golden Knights- their new National Hockey League parent club- on Friday, November 17 against Tulsa and on Saturday, November 18 against the Kansas City Mavericks and auction those jerseys off immediately after the second of those two games.

During the November 17 and November 18 games fans will also have the chance to enter to win a trip to Las Vegas including air fare, hotel accommodation and tickets to a Golden Knights game. The winner will then be announced during the Mallards’ Sunday, November 19 meeting with Kansas City.

The Mallards will join Genesis in the fight against cancer with Pink in the Rink Night on Saturday, February 10. The Mallards will wear pink jerseys- and socks- against the Fort Wayne Komets and then auction those jerseys after the game. The evening before that game fans who have battled cancer or whose family or friends have done so will have the chance to paint their names on the ice in pink.

The Mallards will once more suit up in one-of-a-kind jerseys on Marvel Superhero Night. The Flock will wear special edition Captain America jerseys when it meets the Kalamazoo Wings on Friday, January 19. While that game will also feature special appearances by Captain America and Iron Man themselves, those two will be far from the only heroes in attendance. The Mallards will also pay tribute to Quad Cities first responders- the superheroes in our community- during that contest. The Mallards’ game worn Captain America jerseys- as well as the Iron Man sweaters the Mallards will wear in a road game the following night- will go up for bid online.

For the fourth year in a row, the Mallards will wear military-themed jerseys to benefit VFW Post 1303 in Rock Island. The Mallards will debut those jerseys on Veterans’ Day- Saturday, November 11- during their Military Appreciation Night match-up with the Indy Fuel. Tickets to that game will be available to current and former military personnel and their families for just $10. The Mallards will then sport their VFW jerseys in warm-ups before each of their succeeding home games until wearing them during and auctioning them following their Friday, March 16 game with Toledo.

Dogs- and their humans- will be welcome at Pucks and Paws Day on Sunday, March 4. A special area inside the iWireless Center will be set aside for dogs and their owners during the Mallards’ clash with Fort Wayne. A portion of proceeds from Pucks and Paws ticket sales will benefit area human societies.

The Mallards’ annual R.I.A. Federal Credit Union Teddy Bear Toss will be a big night for furry friends of a different sort. On Friday, November 24 fans will throw stuffed animals onto the ice after the Mallards score their first goal against the Wichita Thunder. The teddy bears will then be donated to area charities just in time for the holidays.

The Mallards will spread more holiday cheer- and winter warmth- on Friday, December 22 when the first 1,000 fans through the doors for the Mallards’ game against the Cincinnati Cyclones receive Mallards winter caps courtesy of KWQC-TV6. After that game fans will have the chance to hit the ice and skate alongside Santa Claus himself.

The Mallards- and Jimmy John’s- will again be in a giving mood on Saturday, January 13. Jimmy John’s Night will bring sandwich giveaways and more during the Mallards’ game against Indy. In addition, January 13 will also be Country Night at the iWireless Center. The Dani Lynn Howe band will play a free concert after the game to complete an evening that will also include country-themed prize drawings.

On Saturday, February 3, Chick-fil-A Night will bring more free sandwiches and a host of other surprises during the Mallards’ battle with Wichita. That game will complete a giveaway-packed weekend. One night earlier, the Mallards will do their part for those who thirst for more than just hockey action when the first 1,000 fans to enter the iWireless Center for the Flock’s collision with Kalamazoo receive free Mallards pint glasses, courtesy of WQAD News 8’s “Brewed”.

Younger fans will be the recipients of the Mallards’ Friday, March 16 giveaway. The first 1,000 children ages 12 and under into the iWireless Center for the Mallards’ tussle with Toledo will go home with Mallards draw string bags thanks to Scott County Family YMCA.

Young fans will also be the focus when the Mallards again this season reward students for academic achievement. Each child or parent who presents a report card with an “A” or other exemplary grade at the iWireless Center box office will receive a free ticket to the Mallards’ Report Card Night confrontation with the Fort Wayne Komets on Saturday, December 30. Later in the season, the Mallards will partner with John Deere to reward area students with excellent attendance through the United Way’s Challenge 5 All-Star Attendance program. Children who have missed no more than two days over the course of the school year will receive free tickets to the Mallards’ Sunday, February 18 game against Toledo.

February will also see the return of Doland Jewelers Weddings on Ice to the iWireless Center. The happy couples will cap off Valentine’s week by tying the knot at center ice when the Mallards square off with Kalamazoo on Friday, February 16.

A different kind of holiday fun will be available in abundance at the Mallards’ Saturday, October 28 game against the Idaho Steelheads. That evening will bring both a Halloween costume contest and on-ice trick-or-treating.

Better than five promotion-packed months later, the regular season will culminate in Fan Appreciation Night when the Mallards close out the campaign on Saturday, April 7 against the Cincinnati Cyclones and provide an array of giveaways for fans in attendance.

Mallards 2017-18 season tickets are now available. Season ticket holders enjoy significant savings of the walk-up ticket price and receive a host of exclusive benefits.
