Forward Tristan King has been added to the Quad City Mallards’ training camp roster, the Mallards announced today.

King, who was acquired last month in a trade with the Orlando Solar Bears, was added to the roster in time for today’s training camp double session at the River’s Edge in Davenport.

King, 26, signed with Orlando in August after playing for three ECHL teams last season. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Minneapolis native scored 15 goals and picked up 22 assists for 37 points in 55 games while splitting time among the Allen Americans, Indy Fuel and Greenville Swamp Rabbits last year.

King has scored 92 goals, notched 137 assists and totaled 229 points while playing 331 career games for nine teams over seven seasons. While he has spent the bulk of his career in the ECHL, King did play 11 American Hockey League games for the Texas Stars as a rookie in 2010-11. In addition to the Americans- who he helped to the 2015-16 Kelly Cup title- Fuel and Swamp Rabbits, King has also suited up for the Ontario Reign, Evansville Icemen, Fort Wayne Komets, San Francisco Bulls and Idaho Steelheads in the ECHL. King played in the major junior Western Hockey League for four seasons before turning professional.

Training camp continues at 1:30 p.m. when the Mallards hit the ice at the River’s Edge for the second time today. This afternoon’s practice will feature the first full scrimmage of camp.

The Mallards will open their twenty-first season- and their fourth in the ECHL- on Friday, October 13 against the Toledo Walleye at the TaxSlayer Center.
