Sam Warning scored 28 seconds into overtime to give the host Quad City Mallards (6-5-0) a 2-1 victory over the Indy Fuel (2-6-3) Sunday.

With the win, the Mallards completed a two-game weekend sweep of the Fuel. The Mallards defeated Indy 5-3 Saturday night at the TaxSlayer Center.

Warning streaked in on goal alone to end Sunday's game with a backhander.

The game winner brought to an end better than two full periods of scoreless play. Brayden Low's power play tip-in put the Mallards in front at 8:07 of the first period. The Fuel's Zach Miskovic tied the game from the slot at 13:25 of the first.

Mallard goaltender Ivan Kulbakov kept the Fuel off the scoreboard for the final 46 minutes and 53 seconds and made a total of 35 saves to set the stage for Warning's sudden death heroics.

The Mallards return to action Tuesday against the Cyclones in Cincinnati. The Mallards next play at home Friday night at 7:05 p.m. against the Tulsa Oilers. Friday's game also brings the return of $2 Dog/$2 Beer Night presented by 97X. Fans can enjoy $2 hot dogs and beers from iWireless Center concession stands during every Friday Mallards home game. In addition, the Mallards have once again this season partnered with Metro to provide transit service between Augustana College and downtown Moline during all Friday home games. As part of Metro’s unlimited ride program, Augustana riders can use their Augustana ID as their fare.
