MALLARDS SEND KING TO ALLEN; DEAL BROUGHT REILLY TO FLOCK

The Quad City Mallards have traded forward Tristan King to the Allen Americans as the future considerations due to Allen in the transaction that yesterday brought forward Connor Reilly to the Mallards along with future considerations the Americans will send to the Mallards at a later date, the Mallards announced today. 
 
King, 27, scored 15 goals and added 18 assists for 33 points in 42 games with the Mallards this season after being acquired from the Orlando Solar Bears in September in exchange for future considerations. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Minneapolis native had signed with Orlando in August. 
 
King returns to Allen for a second stint with the Americans. He scored one goal and notched one assist in seven games for Allen last season before being traded to the Indy Fuel in November, 2016. King, who would go on to finish the campaign with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, recorded 15 goals, 22 assists and 37 points in 55 total ECHL games in 2016-17. The season prior, King provided 14 goals, 19 assists and 33 points for Allen in 53 regular season games.
 
In all, King has scored 107 goals, pocketed 155 assists and totaled 262 points while playing 373 career games for ten teams over seven pro seasons. King spent four seasons in the major junior Western Hockey League with the Portland Winter Hawks and Medicine Hat Tigers before breaking into the pro ranks. 
 
The Mallards return to action on home ice today at 4:05 p.m. against the Fort Wayne Komets. The Mallards will welcome dogs- and their humans- to Pucks 'n' Paws today. A special area inside the TaxSlayer Center will be set aside for dogs and their owners during the game. Dog owners can get tickets for both themselves ($15) and their dog ($5) for just $20 by calling the Mallards at 309-277-1364. All proceeds from dog tickets will benefit Quad Cities area animal shelters and rescue organizations. Fans will also have the chance to enjoy $1 sodas from TaxSlayer Center concession stands during today's game. After the game, fans who bring their skates can join the players on the ice and skate with the Mallards.
 
Tickets for today’s game- and all Mallards regular season home games- are also now on sale at the TaxSlayer Center box office, Ticketmaster toll free charge-by-phone (1-800-745-3000) and ticketmaster.com. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
