Goaltender Parker Milner has returned to the Quad City Mallards from the American Hockey League’s Iowa Wild while netminder Brad Fogal has been released by the Mallards, the team announced today.
Milner, 24, signed a professional tryout agreement with Iowa last Tuesday. The 6’ 1”, 197-pound Pittsburgh native did not see any game action while serving as the Wild’s back-up goaltender in three games.
Milner has gone 2-2-0 with a 2.76 goals against average and .918 save percentage in four games with the Mallards this season.
Milner’s was the second AHL call-up for a Mallard this season. Defenseman Nicholas Rioux joined Iowa October 29 and played three games for the Wild before returning to the Mallards November 7.
The Mallards signed Fogal, 28, as an emergency back-up goaltender last Thursday. Fogal suited up but did not play in the Mallards’ overtime losses to the Beast in Brampton last Friday and yesterday. That stint was the 5’ 10”, 170-pound Sharon, Ontario, product’s second with the Mallards. Fogal played ten games for the club as a rookie in 2011-12.
The Mallards next play at home Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. against the Tulsa Oilers. Fans can purchase four tickets to any Mallards Wednesday home game for just $20. In addition, after each Wednesday home contest, fans can join the Mallards at T.G.I. Friday’s on River Drive in Moline- adjacent to the iWireless Center- for a postgame party.
