Kevin Carr made 39 saves and Drew Fisher and Brady Ramsay both scored as the Tulsa Oilers (22-22-4) slipped past the host Quad City Mallards (23-18-6) 2-1 Friday night.
Fisher opened the scoring by tipping in a 5-on-3 power play goal at 3:54 of the first period.
Ramsay scored Tulsa's second from the side of the net at 10:57 of the second period.
Ramsay's goal loomed even larger after, with the Mallards on the power play, Mike Monfredo pounced on a rebound to cut the gap to 2-1 with just over a second left in the second period.
After keeping the Mallards to just one second period goal by making 17 saves in the middle frame, Carr stopped all 11 Quad City shots- including a flurry of last minute bids after the Mallards pulled goaltender Parker MIlner (34 saves) for an extra attacker- in the third to preserve the Oiler victory.
