Mason Baptista broke a 1-1 third period tie and Parker Milner made 26 saves as the host Quad City Mallards (29-23-7) defeated the Wichita Thunder (28-21-8) 3-1 Saturday night.
Baptista tipped in Benjamin Dieude-Fauvel's shot to give the Mallards a 2-1 lead at 9:25 of the third.
Mario Lamoureux clinched the victory by scoring on a partial breakaway with just over 30 seconds left in the game.
The Mallards first moved in front with Kevin Baker's backhander from the slot at 17:57 of the first period. Wichita's Nikita Kashirsky snapped in a tying goal from between the circles 1:02 of the second period, but it was the Mallards who would take control in the third.
