Chris Presson brought with him ample experience when he joined the Mallards as team president in July, 2010. Immediately prior to arriving in the Quad Cities, Presson acted as General Manager of the INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita during that buildings construction and opening while also overseeing the closing of Wichitas Kansas Coliseum. Before moving into arena management Presson spent 15 years in minor league hockey- primarily in the Central League- as an assistant general manager, general manager, team president and consultant for five different organizations- the CHLs Oklahoma City Blazers, Topeka ScareCrows, Wichita Thunder and Mississippi RiverKings and the American Hockey Leagues New Haven Knights. Presson was named CHL Executive of the Year in 1998 and again in 2004. In addition, under his leadership the Blazers were named CHL Franchise of the Year in both 2001 and 2002. During Pressons time with the RiverKings, the club was named both the CHLs Marketing Franchise of the Year and the leagues Most Improved Franchise. Beyond hockey, Presson has been president and minority owner of the Wichita Wingnuts baseball team and taught sports marketing at Wichita State University. He has also served as a board member for the Ronald McDonald House, YMCA, Boys & Girls Club, Rotary Club and Big Brothers/Big Sisters in various cities.
