Five different Cincinnati Cyclones scored and Jason Kasdorf made 31 saves as the host Cyclones (32-21-2) defeated the Quad City Mallards (20-32-4) 5-2 Saturday night.

Kasdorf turned aside a series of early Mallard chances to set the stage for Winston Day Chief to score the opening goal from the slot on a power play at 13:09 of the first period. Kasdorf would finish the opening period with 17 saves.  It was during a Mallard power play that Brayden Low broke through against Kasdorf and tied the score at one by roofing a rebound at 17:18 of the first. Just 47 seconds later Mike Barrett converted Alex Kile's centering feed to put the Cyclones back on top for good.

Eric Knodel gave the Cyclones a 3-1 lead by finishing off at 3-on-2 rush at 16:48 of the second period.

The Cyclones outscored the Mallards 2-1 over an explosive one minute, 57 second stretch early in the third period to build a 5-2 lead. A Rob DeFulviis tip-in gave Cincinnati a 4-1 advantage at 3:18 of the third. Just 26 seconds later, the Mallards' Gergo Nagy pounced on a rebound to trim the deficit to 4-2 but Kile would respond by rifling in the fifth Cyclone goal from the right wing circle at 5:15.

The Mallards next play at home tomorrow at 4:05 p.m. against the Fort Wayne Komets. The Mallards will welcome dogs- and their humans- to Pucks 'n' Paws tomorrow.
